Pressure Testing
Pressure tests are important to keep you and your family safe.
The reason a pressure test is necessary is to make sure that no
leaks have developed once pressure has been restored to a system.
When pressure is relieved from a piping system,
the joints in the piping become relaxed. When pressure is
restored these joints may develop new leaks that were not present
before. This is especially possible in systems that have sat
unused for a long periods of time.
A pressure test consists of restoring pressure
to the tank and line, and using a number of different gauges to show
whether the line is leaking, or is safe to put back into service.
Usually this process can take from 30 minutes to an hour to
complete. The propane specialist will generally ask you to come
verify the gauges and explain what it means. Once the process is
complete you will have piece of mind knowing that your home is clear of
any kind of leaks.
Remember first time pressure tests are free, so
don't hesitate to call.
